Franklin School’s Safe Culture Student Obligation

I understand that a SAFE SCHOOL CULTURE is one which guarantees that both students and staff will feel safe physically, emotionally, socially and academically and because of their deep understanding of its importance, both students and staff obligate themselves to provide the same for each other everyday.

I also understand that this can only happen when everybody in a culture obligates themselves to treat one another in a way that:

1. Makes each other feel capable and successful.

2. Makes each other feel appreciated and valued as a person.

3. Makes each other feel accepted for who they are, with all the strengths and weaknesses, regardless of our differences and beliefs.

I also understand that it is the absence of a Safe School Culture that caused me to want to leave my old school, and it is Franklin’s guarantee of a Safe School Culture that I sought and need.

I also understand that the Safe School Culture Franklin guarantees al its students and staff, can only exist with everybody’s collaborative support and commitment.

THEREFORE:

I accept my obligation to contribute to my school’s Safe School Culture by always:

1. Treating other with tolerance

This means:

* courteous and respectful treatment of others regardless of our difference, feelings or beliefs.

2. Treating the Program and the Franklin family with loyalty and respect.

This means:

* Not bringing drugs/alcohol onto school property or being under the influence of them.

* Not bringing weapons or fire arms onto school property

* Not responding to or supporting,, harassment, intimidation and violence.
